How can I vote by mail?
Eligible North Dakota voters can complete the online Absentee/Mail Ballot Application and track their Absentee/Mail Ballot here. Your application can be submitted at any time prior to the election. Ballots cannot be mailed out any earlier than 40 days before the election. You can mail back your ballot any time from when you received it to the day before the election, which is the last day it can be postmarked to be counted.

Where do I vote?
Each county is responsible for identifying in-person voting locations for their respective county. Some counties have early voting lasting a couple days to two weeks in person. You can find your voting location here. You can also vote in person up to 40 days before the election at your county auditor’s office.
Vote by mail counties are required to have at least one in-person voting location open on Election Day.

How do I get a valid ID to vote or update my current valid ID?
If you already have a valid ID issued by the state of North Dakota, you can update your voting address online here.
